Job Description:
Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is seeking a full-time Medical
Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist on night shift. -The
MLT/MT is responsible for collecting, preparing and analyzing
specimens, and reporting this information in a prompt manner to the
physician for the diagnosis and treatment of their patients. A
complete list of procedures performed is located in the competency
assessment. Techs are expected to work independently, without
direct supervision. If direct supervision is required to perform
any testing or result reporting, this will also be documented on
the competency. Section Supervisors/Assistant Section Supervisors
are responsible for direct observations of competency
testing.Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is a 45-bed hospital that

clinics and patient-focused programs.Essential Functions:Able to
perform/knowledge of all items in the Competency Assessment Booklet
and takes initiative to complete competencies within different
areas (blood bank, histology, etc.)Accuracy in performing patient
testing.Proficiency testing scores of 95%.Accuracy in performing
QC/corrective action/failures/documentation with less than 5 errors
per year.Maintains phlebotomy proficiency and meets collection time
standards.Meets turn-around-time standards.Completes all testing
following state and federal guidelines.Organizational

clinical, non-clinical, safety, and infection control.Job
Requirements:Minimum EducationMedical Technologist: Bachelor of
Science degree with appropriate training required. ASCP or CLS
certification or a minimum of 15 years of direct experience is
required.Medical Laboratory Technician: Associate degree and
appropriate training. ASCP, CLS or HEW certification or a minimum
of 15 years of direct experience is required.***Training prior to
1988 -Certification program or Military training. ASCP or HEW
certification is required.BLS certified or willing to obtain within
6 months.Required Skills:Requires critical thinking, decisive
judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Working
irregular hours at timesGood computer skillsMust be able to work in
a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Attention to
