Job Description:
Drive new product development efforts and assist daily
production operations by applying engineering skills, project
management techniques, and problem-solving skills on a diverse
range of products and production equipment. Directs
cross-functional teams of Operations associates to bring new
products into full production in a timely manner with a focus on
safety, quality, and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
--- Manages the introduction of new products into production
following the Veeder-Root APD Process.
--- Develops and implements standard work to produce all new
products.
--- Interfaces, trains, and provides technical assistance to
production personnel for release of new products and
procedures.
--- Designs, develops, and implements manufacturing cells to launch
new products.
--- Integrates and implements electronic and mechanical prototype
and permanent test equipment in aid of new product development
efforts.
--- Works closely with other departments during the new product
development process to ensure design for safety, testability,
manufacturability, and cost position.
--- Develop justifications for the purchase of capital equipment,
software, or services necessary for the introduction of new
products.
--- Demonstrate the ability to perform as a self-starter to drive
continuous improvement efforts in areas of focus.
--- Develop and participate in cost reduction initiatives through
continuous improvement of production methods and first pass
quality.
--- Provide engineering support by troubleshooting problems and
implementing timely solutions to maintain continuity of production
flow.
--- Aid manufacturing floor as required.
--- Must possess strong communication skills and demonstrate the
ability to work both alone and in a team environment.
--- Conduct and participate in Monthly Improvement Workshops
(Kaizens).
--- Continually seek new opportunities to improve both processes
and products.
--- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent project
management education
--- 2 to 5 years of specifically related experience preferred
--- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required
--- Microsoft Project experience is preferred
--- Electronics and National Instruments LabVIEW experience or
certification is a plus
