21701 USA The Frederick National Laboratory is operated by Leidos
Biomedical Research, Inc. The lab addresses some of the most urgent
and intractable problems in the biomedical sciences in cancer and
AIDS, drug development and first-in-human clinical trials,
applications of nanotechnology in medicine, and rapid response to

it's the FNL way. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The Facilities Maintenance
and Engineering (FME) Directorate is responsible for laboratory
space, administrative space, infrastructure, campus landscape,
planning, and design, and construction management at Frederick
National Laboratory for Cancer Research. KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Walks thru all support equipment spaces, checking for
malfunctioning machinery and taking corrective action as necessary.
Identify potential machinery and system malfunctions; start/stop
equipment as required; effect minor repairs to a large variety of
systems and equipment; maintain legible and concise records; follow
established procedures; work independently. Responds to scientific
and other equipment alarm conditions, taking corrective action as
necessary. Maintains a clear and concise logbook of all activities
occurring during the shift. Calls the responsible foreman on any
major issues. Determines need for assistance and calls in necessary
craftsmen. Occasionally working beyond normal duty hours, including
weekends and holidays. Will be required to be a part of a
rotational on-call schedule for unexpected 24-hour call-ins
Maintains radio contact with Protective Services. Working knowledge
of systems utilized and program principles such as: Support systems
including - chillers, refrigeration, ventilation, alarm and control
systems (computerized, electromechanical and pneumatic),
electrical, steam, water and gas piping and controls. Provide
general and detailed maintenance, including patching, painting,
doors, hardware, carpet, tile, and furniture. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the
knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: Possession of a high
school diploma or equivalent. In addition to the education
requirements, a minimum of five (5) years of craft/trade related
experience. Ability to perform physical duties including frequently
lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Duties require full range of
motion, and include walking, prolonged standing, climbing stairs,
bending, stooping, and working in confined areas, potential
exposure to particulates, vapors, or a noisy environment. Work is
performed both indoors and outdoors, occasionally in environments
that are dusty, noisy, or that could have work hazards. This
position is considered a safety-sensitive position and will be
subject to random drug testing per the Leidos Biomedical Research
Drug Free Workplace Program. Must have no more than 3 demerit
points in the previous twelve (12) months or five (5) demerit
points in the preceding thirty-six (36) months as determined by
Leidos Biomed Use of Government Owned or Leased Vehicles Policy.

pay range for this job is a general guideline and not a guarantee
