As McConway is the original designers of the first standard automatic coupler, continued innovation and craftsmanship have and has led to a product line that includes every ARR approved coupler as well as custom coupler solutions, which are all proudly cast in the US. As a Process and Sampling Engineering Intern, you will support our foundry’s production and quality control teams. Your role will focus on understanding and optimizing foundry processes, improving sampling methods, and analyzing material performance to enhance the overall manufacturing operations. You will gain hands-on experience in real-world engineering applications, while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Some of your key responsibilities will include: Assisting in analyzing existing foundry processes (e.g., molding, melting, casting, and finishing) and identify opportunities for improvement Supporting the process engineering team in developing, managing, and analyzing samples to evaluate the impact of continuous improvement initiatives Collecting and interpreting data from production runs to monitor process efficiency and product consistency Documenting process flows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and engineering reports related to sampling and process changes Aid in developing, trialing, implementing, and sustaining lean manufacturing process controls Qualifications : Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field Strong interest in manufacturing, foundry processes, and quality control Basic understanding of metallurgy, materials testing, and industrial processes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with data Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and/or relevant data analysis software (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks) Knowledge of or interest in automation or digital tools for process optimization is a plus A commitment to safety and an understanding of the importance of maintaining a safe work environment Safety Activities Be aware of and observe all safety practices.
