Job Description Job Description The Hydraulic Field Service
Engineer supervises installation, upgrades, and troubleshooting of
moderate to complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic equipment
servicing systems in the industrial and environments. Extensive
travel is required. Travel assignments frequently include overnight
and extended periods away, or maybe on an on-call basis. Requires
3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. May
require a degree or certification in an area of specialty. Has
extensive knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and
procedures within the hydraulic scope related to power generation
and other hydraulic systems. Relies on instructions and
pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
Reports to the Field Service Manager. Responsibilities: Provide
on-site commissioning guidance for integrated Airline manufactured
systems. This includes system installation, start up and tuning.
Manage power generation commissioning schedules for hydraulic field
installations in coordination with project managers, field service
coordinator, and field service manager. Install, repair, and
perform diagnostic testing and troubleshooting of moderate to
complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic components or systems
at customer worksites Provide upgrade solutions for the offshore
communication and power generation sectors, along with other
industrial and Mobile customers Ensure safe practices at all times
while on-site with customers. Prepare detailed electronic field
service reports utilizing Microsoft Office and/or ERP software.
Reports will include records of materials used, hours worked,
travel expenses, and other project-related data. As a
representative of Airline Hydraulics, communicate professionally
and effectively with customers, co-workers, vendors, and
subcontractors in an occasionally stressful environment. Work
overtime as required to complete projects. Complete all job-related
training classes as assigned. Aid with emergency service and
preventative maintenance of integrated hydraulic & Electronic
systems Remote troubleshooting, when necessary Assist/oversee work
at Airline service and repair shop locations if field work is
unavailable. As a representative of Airline Hydraulics, communicate
professionally and effectively with customers, co-workers, vendors,
and subcontractors in an occasionally stressful environment.
Provide customers with electro-hydraulic equipment training.
Complete all job-related training classes as assigned. Perform
other essential and related duties as assigned. Requirements: A
valid driver’s license is required, and an acceptable motor vehicle
report (MVR). The MVR will be obtained at the company’s expense. A
valid passport is required for international travel. Mechanical or
Electrical Engineering degree and/or equal technical experience
5-10 years of experience in the power generation field service,
including experience with the service of both hydraulic and
electronic products and systems IFPS Certified Fluid Power
Specialist or Engineer, preferred. Thorough working knowledge of
hydraulic components, including knowledge of Bosch Rexroth
components . PLC program set up and troubleshooting is a plus, but
not necessary Ability to interpret and analyze complex
electro-hydraulic schematics. Proficient AC/DC circuitry knowledge.
Available for international and domestic travel as needed
overnight, for extended periods of time or on an “on-call” basis;
overnight stay can include hotels as well as on board vessels as
necessary. Strong computer skills. Capable of working with
Microsoft Office and a variety of applications. Strong time
management and organization skills. Must be able to work
independently and successfully complete multiple assignments in a
deadline-driven environment. Strong communication skills. Must be
capable of using written and verbal communications to effectively
convey plans and specific details to internal and external
customers. Ability to work in difficult physical and stressful
situations for extended periods of time. Responsible for upkeep of
company vehicles and scheduling required maintenance through the
Enterprise Fleet Program. Perform duties safely and in accordance
with Airline Hydraulics and the customer’s safety guidelines and
