Job Description:
We are in search of an Field Engineering Technologist to join
our diverse and fast-paced organization. As a core team member, you
will be interacting with other electric utility disciplines,
playing a valuable part in performing field inspections,
engineering design work and calculations. As a part of this work,
you’ll be coordinating with permit agencies, right-of-way
specialists, system owners, field leaders, forestry leaders, and
3rd party owners for joint-owned poles. Additionally, you will
provide engineering support during construction, including
post-construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and
construction standards have been met, as well as conducting root
cause analysis of outages and mitigation using engineering
principles and design. You’ll engage with technical design and
Client standards, ensuring quality and timeliness of design
deliverables to QAQC. The selected candidate for this position will
work for our contractor for approximately 6 months with the
possibility of converting to a direct employee afterwards.
Location: The ideal candidate will be within a commutable distance
to Harrisburg or State College, PA. This candidate will be
commuting to this region to customer sites. Primary
Responsibilities Review work provided by Client and assess
requirements of scopes. Provide engineering support during
construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all
applicable engineering and construction standards have been met.
Conduct root cause analysis of outages and mitigation using
engineering principles and design. Travel to sites as needed,
perform inspections and return to the office to perform engineering
design work. What you will bring to the table: Level 1: High school
diploma or equivalent is required and 6 months of prior relevant
experience, will consider coursework or projects. Level 2: High
School diploma or equivalent is required and 1 years of prior
relevant experience; Associates Degree or higher in engineering
technology or related is preferred Able to walk at least one mile,
swing a 3lb hammer, and execute field work on a daily basis
Willingness to perform both field and office work Able to work in
both team and independent environments to organize work to meet
deadlines Written and verbal communication skills Ability to work
in outdoor environments, as some field work could be required
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Successful

Range $35,100.00 - $63,450.00 The Leidos pay range for this job
