Job Description:
Program Director in rurally oriented, university-affiliated
program in Central Pennsylvania UPMC Altoona's 8-8-8 family
medicine residency program, Altoona Family Physicians, is seeking a
new program director to lead their long-time, well-established,
residency program in the setting of the retirement of their current
program director. The Family Medicine Department is the largest
department on the Medical Staff at UPMC Altoona with many of the
physicians having received their training from Altoona Family
Medicine Residency Program. Altoona Family Physicians will graduate
their 47 th class of residents in 2023. Position
Specifications:
- Requires administrative, patient care, scholarly activity,
teaching, and leadership responsibilities.
- Oversee the high-quality educational curriculum of the family
medicine residency program
- Oversee ACGME accreditation process with ongoing maintenance of
certification and compliance with ACGME requirements for
training
- Administrative supervision of multiple offices including the
main office in Altoona PA, the rural office, Williamsburg Family
Practice, Women's Health and Wellness Center, the Pregnancy Care
Center, Pregnancy Recovery Center, and the Juniata College Student
Health Center
- Collaborate with the transitional year residency and the
hospice and palliative medicine fellowship program directors in the
supervision of those programs
- Commitment to osteopathic medicine education with oversight of
the osteopathic program director and osteopathic recognition for
both the family medicine residency and the transitional year
residency
- Oversee interview, selection, and advancement of residents in
addition to the mentoring and development of residents, staff, and
faculty physicians
- 0.8 Administrative/0.2 Patient Care; OB not required for this
role
- Must be board certified through ABFM or AOBFP
- Minimum of 5 years as family medicine residency faculty
- Minimum of 2 years as family medicine leadership role (program
director, associate program director, site director) or leadership
training such as NIPPD. Benefits:
