Check out this opportunity with UPMC Somerset's Same Day Services division! /n This unit is open from 6 A.M. to 6 P.M. As a Casual RN, you can expect to work 12-hour and/or 8-hour shifts, rotating daylight and evening hours, and be scheduled on an as-needed basis to support the unit. This role will also require PACU call every other 6 weeks. /n *Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from UPMC's My Nursing Career Ladder, based on their individual experience and education. /n Responsibilities: /n /n - Foster productive relationships internally and externally through accountability, enthusiasm, and commitment to patients and colleagues. /n - Utilize Relationship Based Care in nursing practice to foster a healing environment. /n - Develop daily patient goals and care plans collaboratively, considering holistic patient needs. /n - Apply critical thinking to address clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues in patient care. /n - Communicate effectively and advocate for patients within the care team. /n - Ensure comprehensive patient documentation to facilitate caregiver communication. /n - Apply adult learning principles to educate patients, families, students, and new staff effectively. /n - Support professional development of students, new staff, and colleagues, potentially serving as a preceptor. /n - Foster an environment of open dialogue and continuous improvement by seeking and implementing feedback. /n - Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives specific to the department or unit. /n - Use research and evidence-based practice to enhance clinical care and quality improvement efforts. /n - Engage in unit-based shared governance and contribute to goal setting and care team partnerships. /n /n /n /n /n /n /n - Minimum 1 year experience. /n - BSN preferred. /n /n Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: /n /n - Registered Nurse (RN) /n - Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire /n - Act 34 with renewal /n - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) /n - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) /n - Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal /n - Act 33 with renewal /n - Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal /n - UPMC approved national certification preferred. /n /n /n /n *Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
