Job Description Job Description Join our dynamic team as an Occupational Therapist in a PRN capacity! Pediatric experience is essential. Compensation: $48.95 - $53.87 per hour, depending on experience! Work Schedule: This is a PRN position requiring travel to clients' residences. The Occupational Therapist will deliver therapy services to clients promptly, following physician directives. Responsibilities include documenting client progress within the organization, evaluating and treating clients, and collaborating with families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. The role also involves maintaining accurate records in compliance with state and federal regulations, participating in agency meetings, and providing training for staff on an ongoing basis. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program recognized by the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association, or eligibility for certification by the American Occupational Therapy Association. Must hold a valid Occupational Therapist license or registration in the state. At least one year of experience as an Occupational Therapist. Possession of a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation. Ability to comprehend medical terminology relevant to Occupational Therapy for effective communication with clients, staff, and physicians, as well as for preparing detailed reports. Coordination and dexterity to handle tools and materials while instructing clients. Sufficient strength and endurance to meet the physical demands of using equipment and materials during client instruction. Proficiency in using computers and electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, training, and documentation. Key Responsibilities: Assess clients and provide Occupational Therapy based on written orders from attending physicians. Oversee and guide Occupational Therapy assistants and rehabilitation aides in client care and related activities. Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate the Occupational Therapy services provided by the department, including scheduling and administrative tasks. Deliver Occupational Therapy services as directed by the attending physician, which includes: Evaluating each client and initiating prescribed treatments. Reporting client progress to the attending physician. Consulting with the physician regarding any changes in the client's condition during treatment. Re-evaluating clients in collaboration with the attending physician. Regularly supervise the delivery of Occupational Therapy services to ensure high performance standards from assistants. Maintain treatment records, including: Physician’s orders. Treatment objectives. Care plans. Treatment procedures and baseline clinical data. Progress evaluations and client responses to treatment. Any other relevant information as per facility policies. Engage in client care planning meetings as necessary to coordinate client care. Communicate with the Director of Clinical Services and other team members regarding client progress, challenges, and plans. Manage personnel functions within the Occupational Therapy Department, including: Developing and maintaining work routines and staffing schedules. Initiating and leading in-service training programs for the department. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings. Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Services annually to develop and implement departmental objectives aligned with organizational goals. Conduct or participate in continuing education programs for staff as coordinated by the Staff Development Coordinator. Attend required in-services and complete assigned online training modules. Assist in ensuring uninterrupted Occupational Therapy services, including finding temporary personnel when regular staff are unavailable. Engage in infection prevention and control, as well as safety programs within the department. Perform additional duties or special assignments as directed by the Director of Clinical Services. Adhere to the Occupational Therapy Practice Act in the state.
