About the Facility Location The facility is located in Pottsville, PA. About the Clinician's Workday The position requires an MD or DO who is board certified in general obstetrics and gynecology with a valid Pennsylvania medical license. Duties include inpatient obstetrics such as triage, labor management, vaginal and Cesarean births, postpartum sterilization, and postpartum care, as well as gynecology responsibilities including emergency department and floor consults, acute surgical care, and possibly scheduled D&E procedures for miscarriage. Required procedures include obstetric triage evaluation, limited obstetric ultrasound, induction of labor, vaginal delivery, laceration repair, operative vaginal delivery, hemorrhage management, Cesarean birth, postpartum sterilization, postplacental IUD placement, Nexplanon insertion, and various gynecologic surgeries such as first-trimester D&E, surgical management of ectopic pregnancy, and torsion. The facility provides full nursing, technical, and perioperative support, along with immediately available anesthesia services and a Level 1 nursery with pediatric support. Coverage is needed from Friday at 5 PM through Monday at 7 AM, with approximately 600 births annually.
