Registered Nurse (RN) | Med/Surg / Telemetry Location: State College, PA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,052 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/3/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Med/Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour shifts Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Valid nursing license Certifications: BLS certification required Must-Have: EPIC patient charting experience preferred Description: Responsible to the Unit Manager for the overall nursing practice of the unit during the assigned shift. In the absence of the Unit Manager, the RN is responsible to the Nursing Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or the Nursing House Supervisor of the shift. Provides professional nursing care based on current nursing knowledge through the use of the nursing process. This includes the responsibility for assessment of the patient's needs, development of the plan of care to meet those needs, implementation of nursing measures, and evaluation of the effectiveness of the nursing care and other treatment measures. Collects patient health data by prioritizing data collection based on the patient's immediate condition or needs. Collects pertinent data using appropriate assessment techniques based on the patient's and family's developmental levels, health status, and identified learning needs. Involves the patient, significant others, and other healthcare providers when appropriate in data collection. Uses a systematic and ongoing data collection process and documents relevant data in a retrievable form. Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnoses that are derived from the assessment data and validated with the patient, significant others, and other healthcare providers. Documents in a manner that facilitates the determination of expected outcomes and the plan of care. Identifies expected outcomes individualized to the patient derived from the diagnoses. Documents these outcomes as measurable goals formulated with the patient and other healthcare providers when possible. Ensures outcomes are realistic in relation to the patient's present and potential capabilities, attainable within the available resources, and directed toward providing continuity of care. Develops a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes. The plan is individualized to meet the patient's developmental and health status needs. It is developed with the patient, significant others, and other healthcare providers when appropriate, considering role relationships and interaction patterns of family members. The plan reflects current nursing practice and includes appropriate interventions to meet the patient's and family's identified learning needs. The plan is documented to provide continuity of care. Implements the interventions identified in the plan of care. Interventions are consistent with the established plan and implemented to prevent potential developmental and health problems in vulnerable patients and at-risk families. They are directed at assisting patients and families to understand and cope with developmental and traumatic situations during illness. All interventions are documented. Evaluates the patient's progress toward attainment of outcomes using a systematic and ongoing process. Documents the patient's responses to interventions and evaluates the effectiveness in relation to outcomes. Uses ongoing assessment data to revise diagnoses, outcomes, and the plan of care as needed and documents these revisions. Involves the patient, significant others, and other healthcare providers in the evaluation process when appropriate. Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice by participating in quality of care activities. These activities may include identification of aspects of care and the development of indicators used to monitor effectiveness. Collects data to monitor quality and identifies opportunities for improving nursing care. Recommends and implements activities to enhance the quality of nursing practice and patient outcomes. Participates on interdisciplinary teams that evaluate clinical practice or health services and develops policies and procedures to improve quality of care. Evaluates own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and relevant statutes and regulations. Engages in performance appraisal regularly, identifying areas of strength as well as areas for professional or practice development. Seeks constructive feedback regarding practice and takes action to achieve goals identified. Participates in peer review as appropriate. Acquires and maintains current knowledge in nursing practice through ongoing educational activities related to clinical knowledge and professional issues. Seeks experiences to maintain clinical skills and demonstrate clinical competency. Updates knowledge and skills on an ongoing basis. Contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others by sharing knowledge and skills. Provides peers with constructive feedback regarding their practice. Contributes to an environment conducive to clinical education of nursing students when appropriate. Makes decisions and acts on behalf of patients in an ethical manner. Practices by the "Code for Nurses" and the "Patient's Bill of Rights". Maintains patient confidentiality and acts as a patient advocate. Delivers care in a nonjudgmental and nondiscriminatory manner that is sensitive to patient diversity. Seeks available resources to help formulate ethical decisions. Collaborates with the patient, significant others, and healthcare providers in providing patient care. Communicates with the patient and healthcare providers regarding patient care and nursing's role. Consults with healthcare providers for patient care as needed and makes referrals to ensure continuity of care.
