Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse – West Virginia Start Date: As soon as possible Location: West Virginia Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, weekdays and weekends; 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio based on acuity Highlights: 13-week contract with possible extension in a 10-bed Cardiovascular ICU Direct care for fresh open-heart admissions from OR, including CABGs, valve replacements, thoracotomies, and carotid endarterectomies Advanced cardiac critical care including Swan-Ganz management, Impella monitoring, IABP, and CRRT Varied patient population including STEMI, cardiogenic shock, medical cardiology, and complicated cardiac cath patients Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy Cerner EMR system with 24 hours of orientation provided Requirements: Active West Virginia or Compact RN license (pending license acceptable) Minimum 2 years of RN experience with cardiothoracic/cardiovascular ICU background Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (American Heart Association), and NIH Stroke Scale Essential skills: Direct open-heart admissions from OR, pressure monitoring, Swan-Ganz management, Impella monitoring, CRRT, IABP, arterial line management, continuous IV sedation, sheath removal, and interpretation of dysrhythmias Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (candidates 75-100 miles considered case-by-case) Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only) Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to practice advanced cardiovascular critical care nursing in a specialized 10-bed unit dedicated to cardiothoracic surgery patients.
