Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Morgantown, WV Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,254 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 1/26/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Cardiac/vascular experience Description: The unit is noted for excellent and quality care to patients in a thriving teamwork atmosphere. The stepdown ratio is 1 RN to 3 patients, while the floor ratio is 1 RN to 6 patients. Common diagnoses include post-operative cardiac surgery patients such as CABG, valve replacements, and complex cardiac surgery cases. Vascular surgery procedures include AAA repair and angiograms. Cardiology patients may present with STEMI, NSTEMI, and heart failure. Nurses are required to titrate various medications, including heparin and amiodarone. Charge Nurses and House Supervisors are available 24/7. There are clinical associates on this unit, with a goal of 4-5 available 24/7. RT equipment includes Cpap, Bipap, and Hi-flow. Monitor technicians interpret all cardiac strips, while RNs also read strips. Floating to sister units is required. Scrub colors include solid royal blue and white. Unit-specific orientation consists of 2-3 shifts. Holiday requirements are applicable. The charting system in use is EPIC.
