interested!Purpose: - The Professional Staff Nurse (PSN) is a
Registered Nurse and part of the care delivery team. - Sets
standards for the level and quality of care. - Holds
responsibility, authority, and accountability for nursing care. -
Manages and provides patient care for a group of patients and their
families. - Uses independent judgment, communication, and
collaboration with team members. - Encompasses leadership,
partnership, collaboration, and supervision. - Establishes and
maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other
healthcare providers, patients, and families. - Demonstrates
commitment to the community and the nursing profession. -
Responsibilities: - Applies knowledge of adult learning principles
(or teaching children) in patient, family, student, and new staff
education. - Provides detailed teaching to guide patients and
families through care episodes and transitions. - Supports the
development of students, new staff, and colleagues; may serve as a
preceptor. - Creates an environment of open dialogue, inquiry, and
continuous development. - Demonstrates accountability for
professional development to improve practice and patient care
quality. - Actively participates in unit-based shared governance,
goal setting, and change processes. - Serves as an engaged partner
on the care team, responding to team member needs. - Adapts to
change and demonstrates flexibility. - Develops and maintains
productive working relationships, demonstrating accountability,
enthusiasm, and commitment. - Understands cultural differences and
promotes healthy relationships. - Maintains a balance between work

Ensures comprehensive patient documentation to promote caregiver
communication. - Incorporates goals from national organizations,

satisfaction. - Creates a compassionate, patient-focused experience
by building healing relationships. - Participates in quality
improvement efforts and identifies opportunities for improvement. -
Utilizes research and evidence-based practice to support clinical
care improvements. - Discusses quality improvement opportunities at
multidisciplinary rounds and influences patient care plans. -
Demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide care and interact
appropriately with patients of various ages. - Understand
principles of growth and development over the life span. - Assess
data reflective of patient status and interpret information to
identify age-specific needs. - Provide care as described in
department policy and procedures. - Minimum 1 year of experience. -
Limited Casual Nurses: Commit to just 30 shifts per calendar
year—choose from 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts to meet your needs. -
Regular Casual Nurses: Work 36 hours across 3 pay periods, with one
holiday shift per year. This role includes access to a dedicated

professional growth, hiring from Professional Staff Nurses to Sr
Professional Staff Nurse II's - BSN preferred. - Establish and
maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers,
physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff,
other departments, and patients/families. - Work productively and
effectively within a complex environment. - Handle
multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment. - Exhibit
good clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical, and
problem-solving abilities related to patient care. - Exercise and
lead others in the application of the nursing process. - Mobility
and visual manual dexterity. - Physical stamina for frequent
walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients. Licensure,
Certifications, and Clearances: UPMC approved national
certification preferred. Current licensure as a Registered
Professional Nurse either in the state where the facility is
located or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement with
the state where the facility is located. CPR required based on AHA
standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration
component within 30 days of hire - Basic Life Support (BLS) OR
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - Registered Nurse (RN) - Act
34 *Current licensure either in the state where the facility is
located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate
Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license
issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees
working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their
residency to the state where the facility is also located will have
60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within
