traumatic brain injuries. Ability to manage complex spinal cord
injuries and other medical and surgical conditions. Description:
This position involves working in a high-impact, fast-paced nursing
unit. The clinical environment requires nurses to address
challenging patient care issues. Nurses will manage a variety of
patient conditions and care modalities. Responsibilities include
complex wound care, which involves a variety of drains and devices.
Care for traumatic injuries, including those that require chest
tubes and respiratory support. Nurses will also tend to patients
with traumatic brain injuries and complex spinal cord injuries. The
unit also addresses other medical and surgical conditions as they
arise. Collaboration with care management, surgical and medical
services, rehabilitation services, and perioperative services is
crucial. Nurses will work with patients undergoing bariatric
weight-loss surgeries. The unit serves both step-down and floor
patients, allowing for varied levels of care. Ratios for patient
care are 1:6 for floor patients and 1:3 for step-down patients.
Nurses must be able to read cardiac strips, although monitor techs
will also assist. Floating to similar units is a requirement of the
position. A uniform of royal blue scrubs is expected for this role.
Holiday work is required as part of the commitment. Candidates must
possess the required certifications and meet the experience
