Surgical First Assistant Location: Glen Dale, WV Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,446 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Surgical Technologist First Assistant Profession: Surgical Tech Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: - Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program. - Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification. - Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 30 days of hire. Description: Two Surgical Technologist First Assistants are needed for an immediate start for a 13-week assignment. The position requires day shifts from Monday to Friday, with hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. On-call duty is required from 3:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with the possibility of weekend on-call. Shifts may alternate between 8-hour and 10-hour days. The Surgical Technologist First Assistant functions as the surgeon's assistant. This role requires direct supervision of the surgeon throughout procedures. Responsibilities include assisting nursing staff, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and CRNAs in patient care. Care is provided during the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases. The Surgical Technologist First Assistant must possess expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques. Knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and related equipment is essential. This position assignment is based on training and experience.
