we serve. More about our team Conemaugh MedSTAR provides advanced
life support and critical care transport for patients of all ages
during interfacility and scene responses via air and critical care
ground transport. The flight nurse directs patient care from
initial contact through transfer to the receiving facility,
maintains clinical excellence in accordance with Pennsylvania
Department of Health standards and Air Methods patient care
guidelines. The flight nurse also serves as a clinical leader,
educator, and liaison to EMS agencies, hospitals, and the
community. Candidates must demonstrate strong critical care
experience, current EMS field competency, and a commitment to
service excellence, safety, and continuous professional
development. How you'll contribute A Registered Nurse (RN) who
excels in this role: - Provides nursing care from the initial
contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical
facility; maintains thorough patient care documentation. -
Practices nursing within his/her scope of practice as defined by PA
Department of Health. - Maintains competency in knowledge and
psychomotor skills by participating in ongoing continuing education
and clinical experiences. - Knowledgeable in use and routine
maintenance of all equipment and supplies to assure readiness and
immediate response to assist providers by ground and/or air. -
Maintains positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS
representatives, hospitals, physicians and the public. -
Participates in patient and referring institution follow up. -
Participate in planned outreach, marketing and education
activities. - Maintains awareness of current issues related to
pre-hospital care and critical care. - Perform standard duties as a
paramedic in correlation with the referral line. Assume
responsibility and accountability in communications with referral
agencies and receiving physicians through the referral line. -
Maintains documentation of required licensure, certifications,
continuing education, state and departmental requirements. - Serves
as role model, educator, and clinical resource - Participates in
orientation of new employees and students as assigned. - Acts as a
liaison and communicates hospital and program mission, values and

current state RN license and possess an associate or bachelor's
degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements
include: - Completion of a PA state approved paramedic course with
certificate preferred - Minimum of two years' experience as an RN
in a critical care or emergency department setting. - Current
active field experience an EMS provider - Qualified for SAEMS
regional active medical command status - Certification as CCRN, CEN
or CFRN - Current Pennsylvania PHRN certification, PALS, ACLS, and
PHTLS or ITLS - NIMS certification (100, 200, 700, 800) - Neonatal
resuscitation certification, PEPP, ATLS/ATCN, CFRN preferred More
