Job Description UPMC Somerset is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support our Telemedicine Center, with floating responsibilities across Somerset Pulmonary Medicine and Somerset Cardiology. This outpatient role offers a consistent weekday schedule and the opportunity to work across multiple specialties in a dynamic and patient-focused environment. /n Sign-On Bonus Details: /n /n - $5,000 for LPN graduates or those with less than one year of experience (with a 2-year work commitment) /n - $7,500 for experienced LPNs with more than one year of experience (with a 2-year work commitment) /n /n Purpose: To provide professional nursing care to office patients under the supervision of patient care providers, supporting telemedicine and specialty services. /n Key Responsibilities: /n /n - Draw blood and collect specimens. /n - Administer medications via oral, subcutaneous (SQ), intramuscular (IM), and IV drip routes. /n - Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments. /n - Assess patients’ general condition, including vital signs and weight. /n - Perform IV therapy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. /n - Document all patient interactions, interventions, and medications in the medical record. /n - Maintain strict confidentiality of patient records and sensitive information. /n - Promote wellness through patient education and communication of physician instructions. /n - Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health). /n - Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures. /n /n - Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing. /n - One year clinical experience preferred. /n - Prior experience in a physician practice setting /n - Strong attention to detail /n - Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records (EMR) /n /n Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: /n /n - Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) /n - Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/n /n - CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire /n /n /n - Act 34 /n /n *Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state.
