DescriptionRecruitment and Retention
To assure that TFC Parent recruitment of each site is met in a
timely manner. The Recruiting and Certification Specialist
will:
- In conjunction with the Program Directors, identify recruitment
needs in each of the program sites and assist in developing a
public relations campaign to recruit prospective TFC
Parents
- Make frequent contact with community members and agencies
expressing interest in Foster Care
- Recruit to diverse areas of the referring county
- Recruit, interview and complete pre-service training with
prospective TFC parents. In addition, where applicable, write Home
Studies
- In Programs where applicable, write Home Studies.
- Where applicable, Certify new TFC Parents within the
program.
- Schedule and participate in In-service training for parents;
scheduled at convenient time and location to meet the needs of
potential parents
- Adhere to all Pressley Ridge Model certification
criteria
- Present program overview and philosophies at local service
organizations, churches, and community groups to recruit
prospective TFC Parents
- In conjunction with the Program Directors, ensure the
orientation and training needs of TFC Parents are met according to
the guidelines established by state and federal agencies and the
Pressley Ridge Model
- Coordinate in-service trainings; distribute a periodic calendar
of upcoming training events
- Notify parents of upcoming recertification dates and needed
training hours
- In some programs, issues a periodic newsletter for TFC Parents
and potential TFC Parents
Community
To assure and/or enhance program recognition and professional
reputation of Pressley Ridge on a local, state and national level
the Recruiting and Certification Specialist will:
- Disseminate agency information and consult with local
organizations and individuals who wish to know more about Pressley
Ridge services and programs
- Provide in-service/training to other programs with approval
from the Program Director
- Represent Pressley Ridge in local, state and national
conferences, seminars and trainings by attending or in the role of
presenter under the direction of the Program Director
- Participate in and assist with special assignments and projects
as negotiated with the Program Director
- Participate as a member of the Operations/Management
staff
- Maintains positive relationships with TFC Parents and other
community agencies.
- Seeks to educate TFC Parents and other professionals about the
Pressley Ridge values and Re-Education principles
- Promotes community-based and strength based services
- Speaks respectfully of Pressley Ridge with all professional
interactions
Documentation and Compliance
To assure quality service and compliance with all state
documentation for family foster home licensures, the Recruiting and
Certification Specialist will:
- familiarize themselves with all state regulations, federal
regulations and agency policies around licensure of treatment
foster homes; ensuring that all state and federal regulations and
license requirements are followed
- write clear and descriptive documentation
- maintain documentation of in-home and other ongoing training
activities
- ensure completion of and collect TFC parent
documentation
- routinely audit parent files to ensure compliance with state
and program regulations
Professional Development
To assure continuous professional growth and development, the
Recruiting and Certification Specialist will:
- actively participate in individual and/or group supervision and
staff meetings
- attend and participate in all required in-service programs and
other professional trainings
- periodically attend local, state or national workshops or
conferences
- independently seek out resources and learning opportunities to
foster ongoing professional growth
Safety
To ensure the safety, health and welfare of all children placed in
a family foster home, the Recruiting and Certification Specialist
(in some programs) will:
- Conduct routine safety audits of all license-eligible and
licensed family foster homes.
- Collect fire safety reports for each home.
Monitor ongoing safety precautions for each home.
Working Conditions
Physical Demands. Requires functional vision, speech, and
hearing
Environmental Factors. School, community, residence, office
Working Hours. A non-traditional work schedule as defined by
service needs and crisis "on call"Qualifications
EducationBachelors of Human Services (preferred)
Experience1 - 2 years: Experience with the foster care system
(required)
