Job Number: 26-00972 Job Description: The Pre-Analytical Assistant I provides essential support within the Technical Operations Department , ensuring specimens are accurately processed, handled, and delivered to support high-quality laboratory testing. This role requires strong attention to detail, adaptability, and a commitment to compliance and continuous improvement. The position operates in a production and biohazard laboratory environment , supporting internal and external customer needs while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards. Key Responsibilities: Perform general support functions across Technical Operations and Specimen Processing Sort, rack, centrifuge, aliquot, store, and transport specimens accurately and efficiently Identify specimen issues (missing information, incorrect types, quantity issues) and resolve or escalate appropriately Maintain compliance with changing test ordering and regulatory requirements Complete required documentation accurately and on time Meet quality and production standards within six months of training completion Support departmental staffing needs during coworker absences Learn additional Tech Ops functions to support progression and operational flexibility Maintain a clean and organized workspace in accordance with 5S standards Perform other duties as assigned Required Skills & Qualifications: Required: High School Diploma or GED Basic data entry skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced production environment Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver carts or specimen racks Preferred: Medical background with clinical laboratory terminology Prior experience in a production or laboratory environment Familiarity with mainframe computer systems Work Environment & Physical Requirements: Work in a biohazard environment while adhering to all safety and compliance policies Maintain composure and sound judgment while working under pressure Demonstrate flexibility in work assignments and scheduling Foster positive working relationships through strong interpersonal skills Benefits: Medical Insurance Vision Insurance Dental Insurance 401(k) Retirement Plan About the Company: A leading provider of diagnostic information services empowering healthier lives.
