Job Description:

Reliance Bank is currently seeking a Full-Time Training Specialist to join our team in Altoona, PA. This is an on-site position based at our downtown Altoona location. The Training Specialist is responsible for performing administrative and project management duties to support the ongoing education and training of bank team members. He/she will work closely with all levels to ensure that the bank's training programs provide team members with the knowledge, skills, and development to meet the long and short-term goals of the bank. As a member of the Human Resources team, the Training Specialist will serve as an ambassador for Reliance Bank culture and consistently demonstrate tenets of courtesy, professionalism, enthusiasm, integrity and teamwork. Essential duties: Plans, coordinates, and implements ongoing bank-wide training activities in a timely, thorough, and effective manner, ensuring alignment with the bank's strategic goals:
Works with the Director of Human Resources and other management team members to determine appropriate course material and program structure to meet organizational needs.
Collaborates with other management team members to establish objectives for the Bank's education and training activities.
Develops internal training programs and related course materials to provide skill enhancement opportunities for bank team members.
Evaluates internal training programs on an ongoing basis and makes appropriate modifications or enhancements. Seeks feedback from others to help in this process.
Creates, maintains, and distributes a monthly training calendar and ensures that bank-wide team is aware of upcoming trainings and training opportunities.
Maintains a training environment that is conducive for learning, ensuring that thoughtful discussion and collaboration is encouraged within the training group.
Serves as the primary point of contact and on-site coordinator for third-party/external training programs:
Identifies, researches, and recommends outside training vendors and resources, utilizing most relevant and cost-efficient means, to ensure that the bank is providing team members with well-rounded development opportunities.
Monitors performance of outside training vendors.
Works with employees and department heads to schedule team members for external trainings. Coordinates billing, payment, and tracking of training completion.
Responds to inquiries from vendors and team members in a timely manner.
Develops and presents new employee training, ensuring that new hires receive a comprehensive and effective training experience in alignment with bank culture:
Serves as an ambassador for Reliance Bank culture and conveys enthusiasm for the subject matter being taught.
Administers initial technical training for all new Personal Banking Advisors (PBAs), Assistant Branch Managers and Branch Managers, by either personally conducting training, or assigning training responsibilities to another Bank team member with relevant knowledge and skills. This includes customer service training, technical transactions, balancing duties, check cashing procedures, security measures, use of terminals, etc.
Administers all mandatory training to ensure compliance with regulatory and audit standards, by either personally conducting training or assigning specific training to another bank team members with relevant knowledge and skills. This may include Safety/Security training, IT Security Training, Bank Secrecy Act training, etc.
Administers training for supervisory and leadership skills, teambuilding skills, and career development, by either personally conducting training or assigning specific training to another bank team member with relevant knowledge and skills.
Maintains appropriate training records and provides assigned reports as needed.
Collaborates with department or branch managers to monitor the progress of new team members throughout their introductory period, providing additional training reinforcement as needed to best set team members up for success. Education: A BS or BA degree in a related field of study is normally required; specialized banking education/training a plus. Experience: A minimum of 3 years' experience in a training role or similar position required. Skills: Proficient reading, writing, grammar and mathematics skills; ability to communicate clearly both in person and in writing; excellent interpersonal skills; strong training and presentation skills and ability to effectively present training material to learners of all skill levels; solution-driven mentality and desire to continuously seek new ways to enhance the training experience; thorough knowledge of all bank job descriptions and the educational and skill requirements for each position; strong PC skills and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); ability to learn and understand bank-specific software and related technology; highly-developed coaching skills; proficient team building skills; an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
