About the Opportunity This is an open position with Penelec, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp in the Lewistown Service Center. The duties of the position of District Storekeeper are as follows: Under general supervision is regularly and customarily responsible for the custody of materials and supplies in a district warehouse. This includes the following, with other related and incidental work: Receives materials and supplies transferred from the general warehouse, or from other sources, and compares physical quantities with accompanying invoices or other records. Inspects items received to determine condition; if it is material returned from the field, usable items are replaced in stock and items requiring salvaging or reconditioning are returned to the general warehouse or disposed of in accordance with specific instructions. Places items in proper containers for protections and availability. Issues materials and supplies against suitable work orders and requisitions. Prepares all necessary tickets and labels to ensure accurate recording and identification of all items, and performs all clerical work connected with the operation of the storeroom to which assigned. Prepares outgoing shipments. Maintains the physical condition and orderliness of the storeroom and its contents. Keeps fire-fighting equipment charged and in condition for use at all times. Watches the quantities of items on hand, and requisitions replenishments from the general warehouse as minimums are approached. In addition to the above and other related work of similar grade, a District Storekeeper may be assigned to any other work of equal or lesser skill within the capabilities of the individual, to meet emergencies or other operating needs.
