Job Description Job Description Emergency Medicine - Physician Opportunity at Our Healthcare Facility in Pittsburgh This role is for a full-time Emergency Medicine Physician at our medical center in Pittsburgh, where you will deliver expert emergency care, conduct patient evaluations, and provide diagnoses and treatments in a dynamic setting. The physician will work alongside a diverse team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and smooth operations within the emergency department. Applicants should possess a medical degree, an active medical license, completed residency training, and ideally board certification. Emergency Medicine Physician Position – Pittsburgh Healthcare Facility Eligible for up to $200,000 in student loan repayment Position Overview: Our facility in Pittsburgh is in search of a dedicated Emergency Physician to enhance the quality of emergency care as a clinical expert. This role involves collaborating with emergency department nursing staff, various medical and surgical services, as well as laboratory and radiology teams to achieve patient, service, and facility objectives. The physician will uphold the established standards of care and practice scope for those trained in Emergency Medicine. Key Responsibilities: Examinations: Conduct thorough medical screening exams for all patients admitted to the emergency department. Utilize assessment skills to evaluate patients comprehensively, employing relevant clinical, laboratory, and other necessary data. Recognize when timely consultations, admissions, or specialized care are required, and ensure continuity of care through effective patient hand-offs. Diagnosis: Accurately interpret and assess clinical data to establish diagnoses and determine clinical status. Therapeutic Ability: Initiate timely and appropriate treatments. Be aware of changes in patient behavior, symptoms, and other relevant factors, and adjust treatment plans accordingly, while understanding the capabilities and limitations of the emergency department. Effectiveness in Emergencies: Quickly identify emergency situations and take necessary corrective actions in a timely manner. Patient and Flow Management: Oversee medical issues for individual patients and prioritize care based on urgency. Ensure efficient patient flow to maximize emergency department utilization. Documentation: Accurately and promptly document physical examinations, re-evaluations, and any significant changes in patient conditions. Maintain clear and current clinical records in accordance with hospital regulations. Basic Qualifications: Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited medical or osteopathic institution, recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs. A current, unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth, including the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty program that qualifies for board certification. Fluency in both spoken and written English. Preferred Qualifications: Board eligible or certified. Work Schedule: This position requires shift work, including nights, weekends, on-call duties, and holidays. Benefits Overview: Student loan repayment assistance up to $200,000 for eligible loans.
